SOCIETY IN DECLINE

in 2016 - 2017, I created my own personal photo expose showing how East Hollywood was declining in its quality of sanitation due to the rise in the homeless population. People simply ignored it and accepted it as “normal” and I witnessed many just walk around the homeless like they were not there.

to show the issue in a new way, I chose to drastically alter the color scheme in a way that was intentionally off-putting while also forcing the viewer to focus in more on the subjects photographed. If the photos were presented normally, they would simply have been uninteresting and glossed over by the viewers.
