MY STORY

I am a Visual Storyteller.

My background originated in background in graphic design, web design and user experience design - each entailing some level of project management on my end. In 2016, I began my transition into photography and video production and post-production (aka: editing) under my first business - The Creative Cortex. This came with the need to expand upon my project management capabilities into production coordination in order to successfully complete a project on time and on budget.

I have collaborated on projects that span real estate, lifestyle, events, and products. Each involved me consulting with clients on planning the execution creative directions, production execution, resource allocation and coordination to craft visuals that connect people with ideas and brands. Most of the portfolio work featured here is from my prior business which is why you will see different branding on most of the video and photography work.

After the Pandemic and Lockdowns, I lost the business completely. In late 2024 I managed to restructure and rise from the ashes with my new business - Media By Mateo. I have started off on a much smaller scale this time, taking only smaller scaled and smaller scoped projects with the goal of expanding again. Over the course of 2025 I started researching and learning AI generative content prompting and spent much of 2025 exploring this as a new tool to use. Some of the work is featured here.

My ability to be adaptable and versatile has allowed for me to make an even newer evolution into A.I. generative content. It has become a useful tool for making concept mock-ups of shoots as well as creating customized stock-imagery and video clips.
